The Western District of Pennsylvania – Pittsburgh Division will begin transitioning to electronic Attorney Civil Case openings on Monday, March 18, 2024.

During the past two years, through our Pilot Program in Erie and Johnstown, attorneys practicing in those Divisions have been utilizing CM/ECF to directly open their own civil cases. Given the success of the Pilot Program, attorneys filing in the Pittsburgh Division will begin opening their civil cases in CM/ECF beginning Monday, March 18th, 2024.  In preparation of this date, the Clerk’s Office will be offering both live and recorded trainings in the upcoming weeks.

Additional email blasts will be sent out with notifications of future training dates and important information as we lead up to the March 18th “go live” date.  We will also be posting announcements to the Court’s website at pawd.uscourts.gov.
