Surety Bond

How do I post a surety bond?

These bonds are simply generated by a bond company for an attorney and filed electronically to the appropriate case number. When filing a surety bond, the attorney should use an approved bond company. A Power of Attorney is needed if a plaintiff or defendant is ordered to post a bond and the bondsman on the Surety Bond is not on file with the court. The fee for a Power of Attorney is $49.00 and must be paid before the bond is electronically filed through ECF. Also, an insurance company can submit a new power of attorney to add or withdrawal names to their company's list with our court. If you have additional questions, please call the Finance office number at 412-208-7600.
